Raspberry and Blackberry Yogurt Pots

Raspberry and Blackberry Yogurt Pots
Serves 1
Ingredients
  • 185 g Greek yogurt
  • handful of raspberries and blackberries
  • 1 tbsp dark brown sugar
  • 10g walnuts, smashed
Dollop about 1 tbsp yogurt into the bottom of a small glass. Add a layer of raspberries, then some more yogurt, then the blackberries. Repeat the layers until the glass is full. Scatter over the sugar and nuts, then leave in fridge for 20 mins until sugar has dissolved.

I like this better than the banana yogurt pot, if only because I like raspberries and blackberries more than bananas. Berries are a lot more expensive than bananas, though, so this breakfast cost more than some of the dinners I've made. It does work well for a treat once in a while or when the berries can be picked up for a song. Say, if you have a berry patch in summer...

Yogurt, 1/3 of a 500ml bottle at EUR 1.75/bottle = EUR 0.58 at Tesco
1/4 of a pack of raspberries at EUR 3.00/pack = EUR 0.75
1/4 of a pack of blackberries at EUR 3.00/pack = EUR 0.75
Dark Muscovado Sugar, 1/50 of a bag at EUR 1.65/bag = EUR 0.03 at Tesco
Walnuts, 1/10 of a bag at EUR 3.89/bag = EUR 0.39 at Tesco
Total Cost: EUR 2.50 for one serving
